"Opening Night of WNYA" – September 8th (7:00 – 8:45) – it’s time to start things up again for the Fall and we’re hoping to make a major difference in the lives of many students during this coming school year. Our theme for the school year is “livin in the L.I.G.H.T. – helping students discover the God who loves them and wants to know them”. Everyone who comes to our opening night of our Wednesday activities will receive a FREE t-shirt. Please encourage your children to bring their friends, and hopefully they too will experience Christ in a real and powerful way. This Fall we will be looking at a variety of qualities of God ending with an opportunity for your child to discover the best friendship possible . . . a friendship with the Lord.
SERVICE PROJECT: “Rhodes Grove Camp” – September 18th from 9:00 – 12:00 – help get the camp ready for their Fall ministries. This would be a neat activity for you to do together as a family. Sign up and plan to be involved.
“Uprise Festival” – September 18th (12:00 – 10:00 @ the Shippensburg Fairgrounds) – this is a mini-Creation Festival, and the line up this year is outstanding. Tickets cost $30 for the day of events. This is an excellent event for your child to take one or some of their unsaved friends to. It has a lot of potential to change a life. “IMPACT Training” – September 25th @ Chambersburg 1st Church of God (a training event sponsored by the Big MAC Youth Ministries) – this event is for all of the adult staff and for those students who feel like God might be calling them into a leadership position. It’s a FREE event, so tell your child to talk with Bobby about this amazing training opportunity. It starts at 9:00 and will end around 4:00. Please RSVP to Bobby (bobbyc@mtp-church.org) if your child is planning to attend.
SPECIAL EVENT: “Sports World Outreach Event” – September 29th @ King Street Church from 7:00 – 8:30 – Mike Cobb (former Chicago Bears player) will be speaking this night and we’re gonna go as a group. Buses leave the church at 6:00 and will get back to the church around 9:00. Please encourage your child to be a part of this and remind them of the time change.
“Laser Tag ‘10” – October 9th @ the Carlisle Sports Emporium from 5:00 – 10:00 – it’s gonna be an awesome night of fun and laughs. The cost is $30, which will get your child a ticket full of exciting activities including Laser Tag, go-carts, video games and mini golf. It’s always a fun night together, and a great opportunity just to hang out and to get to know each other a little better.
